Motorcycle crashes into trees in Latsi, leaving two seriously injured

A motorcycle crash left two young people injured on Wednesday night after a motorcycle veered off the road and struck trees, police said.

According to police, a 22-year-old man was riding a motorcycle along Akamantos Avenue from Polis Chrysochous towards the Baths of Aphrodite when, under circumstances that remain under investigation, he lost control of the vehicle.

The motorcycle left the roadway, collided with trees and came to a stop.

Two taken to hospital

Both the 22-year-old rider and his 21-year-old female passenger were injured in the collision.

They were taken by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital, where they were admitted for treatment.

The rider is reported to be in a serious but stable condition and is out of danger. The 21-year-old’s condition is not considered to be a cause for concern.

Police investigation continues

The motorcycle crash is under investigation as officers from the Paphos Traffic Police work to establish the exact circumstances and cause of the road collision.

The motorcycle crash remains under examination, with police continuing to gather evidence from the scene.
