Police have arrested a 23-year-old man as part of an investigation into allegations of causing grievous bodily harm, making threats and dangerous driving following an incident at a car repair garage in Nicosia district.
According to police, the arrest relates to an incident that occurred on Thursday afternoon at a garage in the district, where the suspect allegedly shouted at and threatened other people present.
Man allegedly struck with vehicle
Police officers were called to the scene and, upon their arrival, the 23-year-old allegedly got into his vehicle.
Investigators said that after driving off at speed, he struck a 43-year-old man, causing injuries to the victim’s legs and elbows.
Suspect arrested under warrant
Police later obtained a court warrant for the suspect’s arrest.
The 23-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Friday and remains in custody to assist with the ongoing investigation.
The arrest forms part of an investigation into alleged offences of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, threats, and reckless and dangerous driving.
The Pera Chorio Police Station is continuing its investigations.
