Limassol teen arrested with stolen car and drugs

Date:

A Limassol teen was arrested after police discovered he was driving a stolen car and in possession of drugs, following a high-speed pursuit and crash.

The 17-year-old boy, a Limassol resident, was stopped during an ongoing investigation into a burglary and theft committed on 28 September 2025. He was found driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen just two days earlier, on 14 October.

Police initially spotted the car running a red light but were unable to intercept it. A short time later, the vehicle reappeared, and when signalled to stop, the teen attempted to flee. In the process, he allegedly committed multiple traffic violations, crashed into another vehicle, and collided with a residential wall before abandoning the car and trying to escape on foot.

He was quickly caught by a pursuing officer and arrested on the spot. He was taken to Limassol CID, where he was re-arrested based on an existing court warrant.

Upon searching the Limassol teen they had arrested, police found a bag containing approximately 12 grams of cannabis and a glass smoking pipe with traces of a substance resembling methamphetamine. A preliminary narcotest showed a positive result.

The 17-year-old remains in custody while Limassol CID continues the investigation in coordination with the drug squad (YKAN) and traffic police.
