Discussions regarding financial incentives for public sector doctors are on the agenda as representatives from the Pancyprian Union of Government Doctors (PASYKI) and PASYDY meet today, Thursday, at 11:00 AM with Health Minister Michalis Damianou.
Asked by the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) about the topics to be addressed, PASYKI President Sotiris Koumas stated that the first focus of the discussion will be the proposal for financial incentives for doctors for the years 2025–2027. The second focus will be the counterproposal expected from the Health Minister regarding financial incentives for the years 2023–2024. He noted that the timeframe for negotiations has been set until February.
Mr Koumas also mentioned that “new facts have now emerged following the last meeting of the Parliamentary Health Committee, where it was revealed that the audit firm’s report contained additional content that the State Health Services Organisation (OKYPY) had concealed.”
