A 27-year-old woman from Colombia has been confirmed among the victims of the Germasogeia building collapse in Limassol, according to reports citing Colombian media and consular authorities.

The victim has been identified as Leonela Alemán Morales, who was in Cyprus for a holiday at the time of the incident.

Confirmation from consular authorities

Colombian consular authorities reportedly informed the victim’s family of her death, bringing an end to days of uncertainty following the collapse.

Earlier, her family had issued a desperate appeal to authorities seeking information about her whereabouts after she was reported missing in the aftermath of the disaster.

The Germasogeia building collapse has prompted ongoing rescue and recovery operations, with authorities working to establish the full list of victims and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
