German Foreign Minister Cyprus visit as Wadephul meets Kombos

German foreign minister visits Nicosia

Today a German diplomatic visit to Cyprus takes place as Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul travels to Nicosia for meetings with Cypriot officials.

Wadephul is expected to convey the solidarity of both the European Union and Germany to Cyprus during his meeting with Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos.

Bilateral meeting at Foreign Ministry

The German foreign minister will first hold a private meeting with Kombos at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nicosia.

This will be followed by bilateral consultations between the delegations of the two countries, focusing on regional developments and cooperation between Cyprus and Germany.

After the talks, the two ministers are expected to deliver statements to the media.

Meeting planned with UAE foreign minister

According to the German News Agency (DPA), Wadephul is also scheduled to meet the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed, during his visit to Cyprus.

The meeting highlights Cyprus’s growing diplomatic role as a meeting point for regional discussions amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
