Four-year-old girl dies from influenza A complications after hospitalisation

A four-year-old girl passed away this afternoon at Makarios Hospital.

According to the Press Spokesperson of the State Health Services Organisation (OKYpY), Charalambos Charilaou, the child had been transferred on Saturday, intubated and in critical condition, from Limassol General Hospital to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit of Makarios Hospital.

Despite the efforts of the doctors, her health condition did not show any improvement.

As stated by the treating physicians, the cause of death was multiple organ failure as a result of infection with Influenza A.
