A human trafficking case has concluded with the Limassol Assize Court sentencing four individuals for offences related to sexual exploitation.
On Wednesday, two 34-year-old defendants were sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of trafficking in persons for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
In the same case, a 29-year-old received an 18-month prison sentence, while a 50-year-old was sentenced to nine months.
Offences took place over several months
According to police, the offences were committed between August 2022 and May 2023.
The case was investigated following information received by the Office for the Combating of Trafficking in Human Beings.
Victim identified during investigation
During the investigation, authorities identified a 24-year-old individual as a victim of sexual exploitation linked to the convicted defendants.
Police said the case was handled as part of ongoing efforts to combat trafficking in persons and protect victims of sexual exploitation in Cyprus.
The investigation remains part of broader law enforcement action targeting organised exploitation networks.
