Five individuals appeared before the Criminal Court on Thursday in connection with the death of 30-year-old Nigerian national Victory Osarumen Thompson. She was found dead in a Limassol flat in the early hours of Sunday 9 November.
The defendants – two 24-year-old women, a 35-year-old woman, a 30-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, all Nigerian citizens – face charges that include premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Court documents state that the victim suffered an attack and blows with a broom handle in the flat where she was staying. The five defendants had returned from a night out. They claim they found the 30-year-old in a frenzied state, possibly under the influence of drugs, and used force after she attacked one of the 24-year-old women.
The court committed the five for trial at Limassol Criminal Court, scheduled to begin on 21 January 2026. It reserved its decision on their continued detention until Friday 28 November.
