Investigations into the “Santi” case are at an advanced stage, however “there is still a long way to go” before their completion, Police spokesperson Vyras Vyroneas said on Saturday.
According to him, a large number of statements continue to be taken, while examinations are ongoing at all levels, including procedures to secure court orders.
Europol findings and FBI involvement seen as crucial
The results of examinations being carried out by Europol on case evidence are considered critical for developments, though no specific timeline has been given.
“As of now, there is no indication as to when a response will be received,” Vyroneas noted.
At the same time, police are also awaiting the arrival of FBI experts, who will have a supporting role, mainly assisting in the analysis of statements and testimonial material.
The Police spokesperson added that, despite the progress made, “the completion of the investigations cannot yet be determined in terms of timing.”
He concluded that “the investigative work continues at an intensive pace,” with further developments largely depending on scientific findings and international cooperation.
