The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that a total of five flights were operated to safely evacuate and repatriate Cypriot citizens from countries in the Middle East, assisting 213 people in total.
Details of the flights
According to the Ministry, the operation included one state-chartered flight and four commercial flights. The repatriations were organised in response to recent developments in the region, ensuring the safe return of Cypriot nationals.
Coordination efforts
“These returns were made possible through coordination and cooperation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, via Diplomatic Missions in the region, the competent authorities of other countries, and airlines, utilising both commercial and charter flights,” the statement said.
The Ministry emphasised that the collaborative effort prioritised the safety and security of citizens during the evacuation process.
