Fight in Ayia Napa involves Israelis and Cypriots

Police are investigating an attempted murder case following a violent incident in Ayia Napa in the early hours of the morning, which left four people injured during a fight outside a nightclub in the Famagusta district.

The incident took place at around 4:30 am when police received information about a serious altercation and rushed to the scene.

Four people hospitalised after fight

Officers found four injured individuals at the location, all of whom were later taken to Famagusta General Hospital for treatment.

The injured include two 22-year-olds, a 25-year-old and a 41-year-old. Three of the victims are believed to have sustained injuries from a sharp object, while one 22-year-old suffered head injuries.

One of the injured 22-year-olds, an Israeli tourist, is reported to be in serious condition.

Arrest made, second suspect under consideration

A 21-year-old man was arrested for assisting police investigations, with authorities also examining the possibility of a second arrest.

According to available information, the suspects involved in the clash include two Israeli tourists and three Cypriots. The arrested individual is one of the two Israeli tourists, while police are also considering detaining the second.

Knife recovered at scene

A knife was found and seized as evidence during examinations at the scene.

Police said the injured include workers from a nearby establishment who reportedly tried to intervene and restrain the suspect after noticing the fight.

The Famagusta CID continues investigations into the case.
