Police are investigating an attempted murder case following an Ayia Napa stabbing incident in which four people were injured during a violent clash outside a nightclub in the early hours of the morning.
According to police, officers responded at around 4:30 am today after receiving information about a fight outside a nightclub in Ayia Napa.
Four people hospitalised after nightclub clash
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found four injured individuals.
The injured include a 22-year-old, a 25-year-old and a 41-year-old who sustained injuries believed to have been caused by a knife, as well as another 22-year-old who suffered head injuries.
All four were taken to Famagusta General Hospital, where they were admitted for treatment.
Police say one victim remains in serious condition, while the others sustained minor injuries.
Arrest made during investigation
A 21-year-old man was also located at the scene. Based on witness testimony, he is suspected of injuring three of the victims.
Police also said preliminary findings suggest the second 22-year-old may have been with the 21-year-old during the incident.
The suspect was arrested for public insult, causing disturbance and breach of the peace after allegedly insulting officers when approached.
Knife recovered at scene
Police recovered a knife from the scene, which has been taken as evidence.
The Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department (CID) continues investigations into the case.
