Employee of mobile cameras attacked with spray; vehicle damaged

Police are investigating an attack after a 36-year-old employee of a traffic camera company reported being sprayed in the face while on duty on the Paphos–Limassol highway.

The incident happened at around 2:40am near the Kouklia exit, while the employee was carrying out a camera inspection using a company vehicle.

Spray used against employee

According to the complaint, a car with three people inside stopped near the company vehicle. One of the occupants asked to speak with the employee.

When the driver slightly opened his window, the unknown man allegedly sprayed a substance into his face, while the other two individuals reportedly struck the company vehicle, causing damage.

Complaint filed with police

The 36-year-old managed to drive away from the scene and went directly to a police station, where he filed a complaint about the attack.

Authorities confirmed that the case is under investigation by the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is examining the circumstances of the incident.
