Trump urges Iran to “act smart soon”

Date:

US pressure on Tehran intensifies

US President Donald Trump has warned Iran to “act smart soon” and submit to Washington’s demands for tighter control over its nuclear programme, as Iran nuclear tensions continue to rise.

In a social media post, Trump said Iran must “give in” to US requirements, signalling a hardening stance amid stalled diplomatic efforts.

He also shared an image portraying himself holding a rifle in front of explosions, alongside the message: “No more Mr Nice Guy”.

Pentagon testimony and policy signals

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth is expected to testify before Congress later on Wednesday, while US media reports suggest Trump has already rejected Iran’s latest proposal concerning the Strait of Hormuz.

According to reports, the administration plans to continue pressure measures until Iran agrees to dismantle key parts of its nuclear programme, further escalating Iran nuclear tensions.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump intends to maintain restrictions on Iranian ports as part of the broader strategy.

Strait of Hormuz dispute deepens

Iran has reportedly blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy shipping route, following the outbreak of conflict involving the United States and Israel two months ago.

The move has caused disruption in global energy markets, intensifying Iran nuclear tensions and widening geopolitical instability in the region.

Diplomatic talks stall

Efforts to reach a resolution have stalled in recent days, despite a new Iranian proposal reportedly backed by Pakistan and reviewed by US officials earlier this week.

According to Iranian media, the plan includes easing restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz while broader negotiations on the nuclear programme continue.

However, key disagreements over nuclear controls and maritime access remain unresolved, keeping Iran nuclear tensions high.

Global energy and security concerns

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important energy corridors, and continued disruption has raised concerns over global oil and gas supplies.

With negotiations stalled and military rhetoric increasing, Iran nuclear tensions continue to shape international security discussions.
