Recruitment process begins
The Ministry of Defence has announced the start of the recruitment process for Contract Soldiers (SYOP) in the National Guard, inviting interested candidates who meet the required qualifications to submit applications for vacant or upcoming positions.
Applications will be submitted exclusively online through the Government Gateway under the section “Conscription – Military Service – Application for Recruitment of Contract Soldiers (SYOP)” from Monday, May 25, 2026 at 08:00 until Monday, July 13, 2026 at 14:00.
Registration and verification required
The Ministry clarified that applicants must be registered and verified users of the Government Gateway.
Verification can be completed through eBanking, in person at Citizen Service Centres (KEP or KEPO) by appointment, or via video call with KEP officers.
Fitness tests scheduled for July
After the application process is completed, candidates will be invited to participate in a sports test assessing physical fitness, as well as a strength test measuring maximum forearm muscle power related to grip and pulling ability when carrying weight.
The examinations are expected to take place during July, with applicants notified by email and SMS.
