Six parties enter Parliament: These are the 56 new MPs

Six parties managed to secure seats in the new House of Representatives in yesterday’s election.

In detail, DISY received 27.1% and retained its 17 seats, while AKEL received 23.9%, also retaining its 15 seats.

ELAM received 10.9%, securing eight seats, as did DIKO, which received 10%.

Alma received 5.8%, entering Parliament with four seats.

The same number of seats was also secured by Direct Democracy, which received 5.4%.

EDEK, DIPA and the Movement of Ecologists – Citizens’ Cooperation remained outside Parliament.

Turnout in the parliamentary elections stood at 66.91%, with 380,851 citizens voting.

Abstention stood at 33.09%.

There were 372,063 valid ballots, 6,618 invalid ballots and 2,170 blank ballots.

The 56 elected MPs in detail

In Nicosia district, DISY and AKEL each secured five seats, DIKO and ELAM three each, while Alma won two seats and Direct Democracy one.

For DISY, Dimitris Dimitriou is elected with 13,157 votes, Giorgos Pamboridis with 12,040, Savia Orphanidou with 11,371, Andreas Konstantinou with 10,238 and Charalambos Petrides with 8,252 votes.

For AKEL, the party’s General Secretary, Stefanos Stefanou, secures a seat without preference votes. Also elected are Christos Christofides with 10,911 votes, Aristos Damianou with 10,673, Giorgos Loukaides with 10,523 and Konstantinos Konstantinou with 9,986 votes.

For ELAM, the party’s president, Christos Christou, takes a seat without preference votes. Also elected are Marios Pelekanos with 6,681 votes and Andreas Papacharalambous with 2,966 votes.

For DIKO, the party’s president, Nicolas Papadopoulos, secures a seat without preference votes, while the other two seats are taken by Christiana Erotokritou with 5,844 votes and Chrysis Pantelides with 4,541 votes.

For Alma, one seat is taken by the party’s president, Odysseas Michaelides, while the second goes to Irini Charalambidou with 5,943 votes.

Finally, the Direct Democracy seat in Nicosia is taken by Fidias Panayiotou with 5,108 votes. Should he not accept the seat, it will pass to Yiannis Laouris, who came second with 1,700 votes.

In Limassol district, DISY secured four seats, AKEL three, ELAM two, while DIKO, Direct Democracy and Alma each won one seat.

For DISY, Fotini Tsiridou is elected with 6,956 votes, Giorgos Karaiskakis with 5,504 votes, Michalis Fellas with 4,856 votes and Michalis Kounounis with 3,473 votes.

For AKEL, Efraim Christou is elected with 4,966 votes, Marina Nicolaou with 4,294 votes and Argentoula Ioannou with 3,803 votes.

For ELAM, Polys Anogyriatis is elected with 2,970 votes and Evgenios Hamboullas with 2,710 votes.

For DIKO, Panikos Leonidou is elected with 3,352 votes, while for Direct Democracy Dimitris Souglis is elected with 2,766 votes.

For Alma, the seat is taken by Michalis Paraskeva with 1,408 votes.

In Famagusta district, DISY’s three seats went to Giorgos Karoullas with 9,540 votes, Nikos Georgiou with 7,723 votes and Georgios Lysandridis with 6,827.

AKEL’s three seats were taken by Nikos Kettiros with 11,510 votes, Giorgos Koukoumas with 9,292 votes and Yiannakis Gavriel with 4,120.

ELAM’s two seats went to Linos Papayiannis with 7,003 votes and Linos Ioannis Hadjigeorgiou with 4,869, while DIKO’s one seat was taken by Zacharias Koulias with 2,700 votes.

Finally, Direct Democracy elects Daiana Lucia Constantinidou with 1,657 votes, while Alma – Citizens for Cyprus elects Theodoulitsa (Litsa) Drousiotou with 511 votes.

In Kyrenia district, AKEL’s one seat was taken by Anastasia Hasikou with 2,240 votes, DISY’s one seat by Dimos Georgiadis with 1,935 votes and DIKO’s one seat by Adamos Aspris with 776 votes.

In Larnaca district, DISY and AKEL each secured two seats, while DIKO and ELAM each took one.

For AKEL, Andreas Pasiourtides is re-elected with 7,698 votes, while Panikos Xiourouppas is elected with 5,090 votes.

For DISY, one seat is taken by Annita Demetriou, as party president, without preference votes, while the second seat is secured by Prodromos Alambritis with 7,297 votes.

For DIKO, Andreas Apostolou is elected with 3,679 votes, while for ELAM, Sotiris Ioannou is re-elected with 3,158 votes.

In Paphos district, DISY’s two seats went to Charalambos Pazaros with 4,609 votes and Nicoletta Constantinou with 3,608.

AKEL’s one seat went to Valentinos Facontis with 3,943, DIKO’s one seat was taken by Chrysanthos Savvides with 4,778, and Direct Democracy’s one seat by Dimitris Baros with 280 votes.
