Cyprus strike: over 50 flights cancelled at Larnaca and Paphos

Date:

Hermes Airports has announced the list of Cyprus flights cancelled due to Thursday’s nationwide general strike, which will take place from 11:00 to 14:00.

According to the company, more than 50 arrivals and departures at Larnaca and Paphos airports are expected to be affected, with over 15,000 passengers impacted.

As airlines complete the rescheduling of services, Hermes urges passengers to monitor their messages and contact their airline or travel agent directly to confirm new departure or arrival times. Updated flight times will also be posted on the Hermes Airports website.

Due to the strike, the following flights have been cancelled:

  • Jazeera Airways flights to and from Kuwait (JZR345/JZR346)
  • Qatar Airways flights to and from Doha (QTR265/QTR266)
  • Emirates flights from Dubai to Larnaca and from Larnaca to Malta (UAE109)

Hermes added that, in coordination with ground handling companies, additional staff will be on duty immediately after the strike ends at 14:00 to assist the increased number of passengers.

The Cyprus strike flights cancelled highlight the significant impact of the three-hour nationwide stoppage on both air travel and travellers.
