Cyprus receives €76.9 million under the Recovery fund

Date:

Today, the European Commission disbursed €76.9 million to Cyprus as its third instalment under the Recovery and Resilience Facility. As for all Member States, payments made to Cyprus under the RRF are performance-based and depend on the implementation of the investments and reforms described in its recovery and resilience plan.

Cyprus submitted its third payment request, corresponding to the fourth grant instalment, on 3 July 2024, covering 12 milestones and 4 targets. These milestones relate to 9 reforms and 7 investments aimed at improving digitalisation, health, environment, energy, research, and connectivity in Cyprus.

On 11 February 2025, the Commission adopted a positive preliminary assessment of Cyprus’s request for payment. The favorable opinion of the Economic and Financial Committee of the Council on the payment request paved the way for the Commission to adopt a final decision on the disbursement of the funds. This latest payment brings the total disbursed to Cyprus under the RRF to €455 million, or 38% of the total funds in the Cypriot plan. To date, 24% of the milestones and targets in the plan have been fulfilled.

Cyprus’s overall recovery and resilience plan will be financed by €1.2 billion in grants and loans. An interactive map providing examples of reforms and investments supported by the Recovery and Resilience Facility is available online.
