Targeted police operations continue across Cyprus

Cyprus Police continued targeted preventive operations last night, maintaining an enhanced presence at key points in urban areas. The aim was to prevent serious crimes, protect citizens, and maintain public order.

Six arrests and multiple checks

During the operations, officers arrested six individuals for various offenses. In Limassol, police detained three people for illegal stay in the Republic of Cyprus and three others for illegal employment.

Officers also stopped over 136 vehicles for checks and inspected more than 53 individuals inside them. They conducted 43 inspections of premises, resulting in 20 reports for operating without a license, undeclared employment, and failure to issue receipts, aiming to prevent and curb illegal activities.

Traffic enforcement and alcohol checks

Police issued 20 citations for traffic violations and conducted 48 alcohol checks on drivers throughout the night.

Ongoing preventive strategy

These operations form part of a broad, ongoing preventive plan. Cyprus Police maintain increased presence, conduct targeted checks, and act promptly across all districts to prevent crime and enhance citizens’ sense of security.
