Cyprus Customs officials at Larnaca Airport have seized three luxury watches worth around €57,000 from a passenger arriving from Switzerland who failed to declare them for the payment of required duties and taxes.
According to a Customs Department announcement, the discovery was made on 29 July 2026 after officials assessed available information and searched the luggage of a Cypriot passenger arriving from Switzerland.
The three luxury wristwatches had a combined value of approximately €57,000 and had not been declared as required under customs regulations.
Passenger fined over non-declaration
Authorities imposed a fine and financial charge on the passenger for failing to declare the items.
A total of €4,584 was imposed in penalties and additional charges, while customs duties and taxes amounting to €10,843 were also collected.
The Customs Department continues checks at points of entry to ensure compliance with declaration and taxation requirements.
