Construction accident in Paralimni – Two workers suffer brain injuries

Scaffolding collapse at construction site

A serious Paralimni construction accident occurred on Thursday afternoon at a building under construction, leaving two workers severely injured.

According to police, around 12:00, two men aged 64 and 56 were on scaffolding approximately two metres high when, under circumstances under investigation, the structure collapsed, causing them to fall to the ground.

Serious injuries reported

Both workers sustained traumatic brain injuries and multiple fractures. The 64-year-old was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital and is being treated in the Neurosurgery Department, while the 56-year-old was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Famagusta General Hospital.

Authorities confirm serious condition

The health of both men is considered critical. The Paralimni Police Station is investigating the circumstances surrounding the construction accident to determine its cause.
