A 29-year-old motorcyclist died following a fatal road collision on the Kellia–Troulloi road on Sunday evening.
The crash occurred at around 7.30pm, with Larnaca Traffic Police investigating the exact circumstances.
Alcohol and drug tests negative
According to Marina Christodoulides, an officer with the Cyprus Police Headquarters Communications Branch, alcohol and drug tests carried out on the 28-year-old car driver were negative.
The collision involved a large-capacity motorcycle ridden by 29-year-old Giorgos Georgiou and a car carrying four people.
Four others discharged from hospital
Following the crash, Georgiou and the four occupants of the car were taken by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital.
Doctors confirmed the motorcyclist had died.
The 28-year-old driver, a 32-year-old passenger and two children, aged two and four, were treated at the hospital and later discharged.
Larnaca Traffic Police are continuing their investigation into the exact causes and circumstances of the fatal collision.
