Palestinian embassy urges immediate action to halt Gaza crisis

Date:

The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Cyprus has called for immediate “international intervention to stop the genocide” in Gaza.

“We demand immediate international intervention to stop the genocide and the attacks by armed settler militias. Before the eyes of the international community, the Israeli government boasts about completing the total destruction of the Jabalia refugee camp and has announced its transition to the phase of destroying Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun, as is happening right now,” the statement reads.

The embassy further asserts that it is now evident “the Israeli government deliberately devises successive agendas to mask its plans and solidify its occupation of the Gaza Strip, altering the region’s characteristics, if not turning it into scorched earth unfit for human habitation.”

It also calls on the UN Security Council “to fulfil its responsibilities by putting an end to Israel’s disregard for relevant UN resolutions, particularly Resolution 2735 and the General Assembly decision calling for the implementation of the International Court of Justice opinion within 12 months.”
