New road tragedy – 67-year-old woman dies after being trapped in wreckage

A 67-year-old woman, Fotini Paschali, died following a road collision that occurred at around 6:45 p.m. yesterday in Anthoupoli.

According to information currently under investigation, the 67-year-old was driving along Sporadon Street when she lost control of her vehicle. The car mounted the pavement before crashing into a wall, where it came to a stop.

Paschali, who was not wearing a seat belt, became trapped in the wreckage of her vehicle and had to be freed by the Fire Service.

She was subsequently transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where the doctor on duty pronounced her dead.

Nicosia Traffic Police are continuing their investigation.
