A new dog adoption initiative aims to help 35 dogs find permanent homes, according to Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos.
Adoption package fully covered
According to a post by Prountzos, the initiative concerns 35 dogs currently staying at the Temporary Dog Shelter operated by the municipalities of Nicosia, Strovolos and Lakatamia.
The full adoption package will be covered as part of the programme. The dogs will be handed over to their new guardians sterilised and with fully updated health records.
The initiative aims to give the animals a second chance and help them find permanent homes.
How to adopt
People interested in adopting one of the dogs can contact the shelter’s operator, SIMBA ANIMAL AID LTD, on 99 657631.
The organisation can provide information about the dogs currently available for adoption and arrange visits for prospective adopters.
Prountzos urged residents to support the initiative and help all 35 dogs find a home and family.
He also encouraged residents to follow the Nicosia Municipality’s Pet Friendly Nicosia page for updates on animal-related activities, initiatives and issues in the city.
