The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has announced that the mass installation of smart meters will continue throughout September.
According to the EAC, smart meters will be installed in the following areas during the month:
Nicosia
Aglantzia
The installation will cover the area between Limassol Avenue, Aglantzia Avenue, Larnaca Avenue, University Avenue and Athalassa Forest Road.
Limassol
Kapsalos
The work will cover the area between the Nicosia–Limassol motorway, Agia Fyla Avenue, Agios Nektarios Road and Kosti Palama Road.
A second area is located between Agia Fyla Avenue, Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, Petrou Tsirou Street and Apostolou Petrou and Pavlou Street.
Communities
Smart meters will also be installed in the communities of Lemythou, Paliomylos, Agios Dimitrios and Agios Theodoros of Agros.
Temporary power interruptions
The EAC said that a temporary interruption to the electricity supply is required for the safe replacement of each meter.
The interruption is not expected to last more than 20 minutes.
The authority apologised for any inconvenience caused during the installation works.
