The Lefkara Festival returns for its 44th edition, bringing a programme of cultural, musical, theatrical and traditional events from 7 to 16 August, with an additional event on 22 August 2026.
Organised by the Municipality of Lefkara, this year’s festival focuses on the village’s history, cultural heritage and traditions, featuring concerts, tributes, theatre performances, exhibitions, children’s activities and events for all ages.
Most activities will take place at the Propylaea of the Holy Cross School of Lefkara, while additional events will be hosted at various locations across the municipality.
Opening ceremony with tribute to Marinella
The official opening will take place on Friday, 7 August, with the renaming of the Lefkara Handicraft Centre to “Savvas Xenofontos” and the opening of the Embroidery and Silversmithing Exhibition.
The opening ceremony, held under the auspices of President Nikos Christodoulides, will be followed by a musical tribute to Marinella featuring Elena Panagopoulou, Liza Theofanous and Christoula Tsaggaras, under the direction of conductor Savvas Chrysanthou.
On Saturday, 8 August, visitors will enjoy a concert featuring Thanos Petrelis and Eleftheria Eleftheriou, in an evening dedicated to Greek pop and folk music.
Tribute to Manos Loizos
On Sunday, 9 August, the National Memorial Service for fallen Lefkara residents and a blood donation event will take place at the Lefkara Conference Centre.
Later that evening, the traditional Lefkaritiko Night will be held, dedicated this year to Manos Loizos, featuring choirs and the dance group of the Upper Lefkara Municipal District.
The festival programme includes a wide range of activities celebrating Lefkara’s identity and heritage throughout August.
