A charred body was discovered on Sunday morning next to a burning vehicle on a dirt road in the village of Avgorou, prompting a police investigation.
According to Cyprus Police, authorities received a report at around 10:00 a.m. regarding a vehicle on fire along a rural road in Avgorou.
Emergency services responded to the scene, where they found the burned vehicle and the charred body nearby.
A forensic pathologist attended the scene to carry out the necessary examinations, while police launched an investigation to determine the identity of the deceased and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Investigations remain ongoing.
