Seasonal low pressure continues to affect the region, bringing hot and mostly clear weather across Cyprus.
The weather on Thursday will remain mainly fine, with temperatures climbing to around 40°C inland. Western coastal areas are expected to reach 34°C, while temperatures will rise to around 37°C along the remaining coasts and 30°C in the higher mountains.
Yellow heat warning in force
A yellow heat warning will be in effect from 2 pm until 5 pm on Thursday.
Winds will initially blow mainly northwesterly to northeasterly at light to moderate force, 3 to 4 Beaufort, before gradually turning southwesterly to northwesterly later in the day. The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Warm nights and stable outlook
Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly at around 3 Beaufort, while the sea will stay calm to slightly rough.
Overnight temperatures will fall to around 25°C inland and along the southern and eastern coasts, 24°C on the remaining coasts and 20°C in the higher mountains.
Friday and the weekend are expected to remain mostly clear, with no significant change in temperatures. Values will continue to stay above the seasonal average.
