Police investigations are continuing into the death of a 12-month-old baby boy who died at Limassol General Hospital.
The post-mortem examination carried out yesterday failed to establish the cause of death of the infant. According to police, tissue samples and other specimens were collected during the examination for histopathological and additional laboratory testing, the results of which are expected to determine the cause of the child’s death.
Police are investigating a case of unnatural death, and detectives continue to take statements in an effort to establish the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
It is noted that the baby boy had been feeling unwell in the days leading up to his death. On Thursday evening, he was taken to Limassol General Hospital, where he died despite the efforts of doctors to save him.
The funeral of the infant will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Archangel Michael in Limassol. The child’s parents have requested that mourners attend dressed in white.
