A nurse dismissal case has been confirmed after the Organisation of State Health Services (OKYPY) took disciplinary action following a complaint from the family of an elderly patient.
According to an official statement, the nurse was removed from active duties as a precautionary measure while an investigation is ongoing.
The health worker has been reassigned to a role with limited contact with patients until the inquiry is completed. Authorities said the decision was taken due to the seriousness of the complaint and in line with internal protocols.
At the same time, strict instructions have been issued to staff, with daily monitoring of conduct in place.
Contact with the family
OKYPY confirmed that it has been in contact with the patient’s family, providing assurances regarding the continued quality of care.
The organisation stressed that patient safety and dignity remain its top priority.
Internal review and staff support
The organisation said it invests continuously in training and lifelong learning for healthcare staff, applying strict ethical codes and care standards.
It added that in cases where allegations are found to be unfounded, staff are supported. However, when misconduct or omissions are confirmed, immediate action is taken.
OKYPY reiterated that its main focus remains people and their families, based on trust, respect, and safe healthcare delivery.
