Serious allegations have surfaced regarding the reported purchase of a luxury property in Cyprus by Ukrainian judge Yaroslav Holovachov, alongside claims of efforts to remove related online reports.
According to Ukrainian media reports, the deputy head of the Kyiv Court of Appeal, referred to in some reports as “Midas”, is alleged to have acquired a villa worth around €4 million in the Pervolia area of Larnaca.
The allegations suggest the transaction took place in 2015 concerning a high-specification property with a total covered area of approximately 570 square metres, situated on a 1,500 square metre plot.
The villa is described as a seafront property overlooking the Mediterranean, featuring a swimming pool and multiple living spaces. It is also reportedly located a short distance from Larnaca airport and the city centre.
Sources cited in the reports claim that a real estate company facilitated the transaction.
Questions over declared income
At the centre of the allegations are claims of a discrepancy between the declared income of the judge’s family and the apparent value of assets associated with them.
Media reports suggest that these concerns have raised questions about the origin of the funds used for the purchase, although no official findings have been confirmed.
At the same time, publications refer to an alleged “clean-up” of online content linked to the case, particularly reports questioning the transparency of the transaction and the source of financing.
These claims have not been independently verified.
Reports also note that investments of this scale in Cyprus real estate were previously linked to eligibility for citizenship through investment schemes. However, there is currently no confirmation that such a process applies in this case.
