Mostly clear start across the island
Cyprus weather will turn mainly clear today after early morning mist and low cloud gradually clear, according to the Cyprus Department of Meteorology.
During midday and early afternoon, locally increased cloud is expected to develop, bringing isolated showers or even a thunderstorm, mainly over inland areas and the mountains.
Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest, starting light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort before strengthening locally to 4 to 5 Beaufort later in the day. The sea will remain slight.
Temperatures will rise to 29C inland, around 24C along the south, east and north coasts, 23C on the west coast and 18C in the higher mountains.
Fog possible overnight
Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear, although periods of low cloud may develop at times.
During the early morning hours, thin mist or fog may form, especially over inland districts and the southeast coast.
Winds will become mainly northwesterly to northeasterly at 3 Beaufort, while the sea will stay calm to slight.
Temperatures will fall to around 14C inland and along the coast, dropping to 9C in the higher mountain areas.
Similar pattern through Friday
Cyprus weather will remain unsettled during the afternoons from Wednesday through Friday.
Local cloud is expected to build at times, with isolated showers possible during midday and early afternoon, mainly over mountainous and inland areas.
Temperatures are not expected to change significantly by Friday and will remain slightly above seasonal averages.
