Construction noise continues despite planned limits
Despite assurances that heavy construction work at Makarios Hospital would occur only after 8:00 a.m. and pause between 1:00–2:00 p.m., parents report that these measures are not being followed.
Parents raise concerns at recent meeting
During the latest parents’ meeting with hospital officials and the Health Minister, it was stated that construction would continue for another seven days and would be quiet. However, these promises have not been reflected on the site.
Work starts early, causing distress
In practice, construction at the new hospital building begins as early as 7:00 a.m., accompanied by loud noise. Children and their guardians continue to experience disruption and discomfort, with no effective noise mitigation in place.
The ongoing construction challenges the hospital’s environment, affecting recovery and well-being for children receiving treatment, while families struggle to manage the disturbance.
