Police fire warning shots during chase in Lymbia

Early Tuesday, around 03:45, officers from the MMAD (Cyprus Police Emergency Response Unit) spotted a suspicious vehicle in the Lymbia area, prompting a stop for inspection. The driver failed to comply, leading to a high-speed chase.

Vehicle collides with police cars

During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle collided with police cars, forcing officers to fire warning shots to halt the vehicle. The chase ended successfully, and the driver was apprehended.

Large quantity of untaxed tobacco found

Upon inspection, authorities discovered a large number of untaxed tobacco products inside the vehicle. Police investigations are ongoing to determine the source and intended distribution of the contraband.
