Tehran says European countries helped create conditions for war

Date:

Tehran accused European countries on Monday of contributing to conditions that allowed US-Israeli attacks, which triggered the ongoing war with Iran.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Bagai denied any Iranian attacks against Turkey, Azerbaijan, or Cyprus, describing such claims as “false-flag attacks.”

Criticism of Europe

Bagai stated that European nations, instead of upholding the rule of law, agreed with the US at the UN Security Council discussions on the re-imposition of sanctions. “This encouraged the American and Zionist side to continue committing crimes,” he said during a weekly press briefing.

Continued defensive stance

The spokesperson ruled out a ceasefire while attacks continue and reaffirmed that Iran will continue to defend itself. “There is no reason for talks about anything other than defence and crushing responses against enemies,” he said. Bagai reiterated that Iran does not seek conflict with its Muslim neighbours but must target “facilities used by attackers” as part of its legitimate self-defence.
