Scam alert: Malicious Viber calls claiming to be from Revolut

Date:

Calls displaying the company’s logo are being made to unsuspecting members of the public, the aim is to extract money and personal data.

Reports from citizens refer to telephone calls carried out via the Viber platform which appear with the Revolut logo.

According to the information, this is an attempted fraud, as unknown individuals are falsely impersonating the company in order to mislead the recipients of the calls.

The perpetrators attempt to obtain money or sensitive personal information, exploiting the company’s recognisability.

Members of the public are strongly advised to remain vigilant and to treat any unsolicited calls with caution, even if they appear to display official logos or company names. Legitimate organisations will never ask for passwords, PINs or full security details over the phone. If in doubt, individuals should end the call immediately and contact the company directly through its official website or customer service channels.

Anyone who receives such a call or believes they may have been targeted is encouraged to report the incident to the relevant authorities or their national police cybercrime unit. Reporting these attempts helps authorities track fraudulent activity, protect others from falling victim, and take action against those responsible.
