Officers increase patrols and checks across Cyprus

Police continued their dynamic and targeted preventive operations last night, with an enhanced presence in key urban areas to prevent serious crime, protect citizens, and maintain public order.

Arrests and property checks

During these operations, officers arrested four individuals for offences including illegal possession of property, burglary and theft, failure to appear in court, and breach of court orders.

Authorities also conducted extensive checks at 36 premises to prevent and suppress illegal activities promptly.

Traffic enforcement and vehicle detentions

On the road network, police carried out more than 350 checks, resulting in 129 traffic offence reports. Of these, 65 involved speeding violations. In addition, three vehicles were impounded during traffic investigations.

Ongoing preventive strategy

These operations form part of a broad, continuous, and reinforced preventive plan. Police maintain increased presence, carry out targeted inspections, and act swiftly across all districts to prevent crime and strengthen citizens’ sense of security.
