Dead woman in Paralimni: Autopsy set for Friday after on-site inspection

Date:

The autopsy scheduled for Friday morning will determine the cause of death for a 49-year-old foreign woman found dead around 3 p.m. in her Paralimni apartment.

Scene inspection conducted

Members of the Famagusta CID attended the scene. Fire Service personnel assisted in gaining entry to the apartment.

Forensic pathologists Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou arrived and performed an on-site inspection.

The exact cause of the woman’s death will be clarified following the official autopsy, set for approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday, 28 November.

The woman, a Norwegian national and permanent Cyprus resident, had been reported missing for several days by a close associate unable to contact her. Police entered via the balcony and found her dead in the bathtub. She was discovered semi-nude with bruises, and the apartment showed signs of disarray. No immediate cause was determined from the initial inspection, and all possibilities remain open, including potential foul play.

A close associate has been called to give a statement and will undergo forensic examination as part of the ongoing probe.
