Trump says Charlie Kirk suspect arrested: “high degree of certainty”

Date:

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday he believes the suspect in the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been arrested.

Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Trump stated: “I believe, with a high degree of certainty, that we have him in custody,” adding that someone who knew the suspect had provided information leading to the arrest.

Ongoing investigation

Authorities have not yet released official confirmation of the arrest, and details about the suspect’s identity remain unclear. Investigations are continuing into the fatal shooting at Utah Valley University in Orem, where Kirk was killed during a political event earlier this week.

The Charlie Kirk suspect arrested development comes amid heightened political tension in the United States, with Kirk’s death sparking widespread reactions across the political spectrum.
