Police raid uncovers illegal tobacco in Nicosia, as officers searched the home and vehicle of a 48-year-old suspect. They discovered 243 boxes of heated tobacco products, 264 boxes of various cigarettes, and over 10kg of loose tobacco. The items were seized by customs officials and the man was arrested at the scene.

During the search of both the suspect’s residence and vehicle, officers uncovered:

  • 243 cartons of heated tobacco products
  • 264 cartons of assorted cigarettes
  • 10,750 grams of loose tobacco
  • A sum of money, which was also seized

All the confiscated products were handed over to Customs Department officials, while the 48-year-old was arrested after being caught red-handed.

The Customs Department has taken over the investigation for further legal action.
