The Municipality of South Nicosia–Dali has built and upgraded 23 parks across its six municipal districts as part of efforts to improve public spaces and residents’ quality of life.
In an announcement, the municipality said it was investing in modern spaces for recreation, play and social interaction.
“Priority is given to functionality, safety and creating the right environment for children, families and all residents,” it said.
Safer, more accessible playgrounds
Particular emphasis has been placed on improving and modernising playgrounds to meet contemporary needs and European safety standards.
Special impact-absorbing surfaces have also been installed to provide additional protection for children.
The municipality said the creation and redevelopment of parks aimed to give every neighbourhood access to improved facilities, enhancing the appearance, functionality and accessibility of public spaces.
Urban furniture and other amenities have also been added to all 23 parks to make them more attractive, practical and welcoming.
Four more parks planned
The municipality is already working on the creation of two additional large parks, with plans to implement two more projects in 2027.
The combined value of the four parks is expected to exceed €600,000.
