Greek F-16 jets have arrived in Cyprus to take part in the National Guard’s IRIS 2026 military exercise, with the final phase scheduled for Thursday, October 15.
The two fighter aircraft have been deployed to the Andreas Papandreou airbase in Paphos as part of preparations for the exercise.
According to the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (RIK), the Greek F-16 jets flew over the Kalo Chorio firing range on Tuesday, October 13, as part of the preparatory activities.
The National Guard has announced that live-fire exercises will take place at the Kalo Chorio firing range from October 12 to 15, during daylight hours.
Greek F-16s previously took part in IRIS
The participation of Greek fighter aircraft in the exercise is not unprecedented. Greek Air Force F-16s also took part in the final phase of IRIS 2024, carrying out simulated attacks on ground targets.
