Rain and cooler weather expected in parts of Cyprus

Today’s weather will be mostly clear, but in the afternoon, locally increased cloud cover is expected to bring isolated showers or even a thunderstorm, mainly in mountainous areas, inland regions, or the east, according to the Meteorological Service.

On Friday and Saturday, the weather will be partly cloudy at intervals, with isolated showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon, especially in the mountains, inland, and possibly the southwest.

On Sunday, the weather will again be mostly clear, though increased cloud cover in the afternoon may bring isolated showers or storms, particularly in the mountains.

Temperatures will dip slightly on Friday and remain at similar levels over the weekend, which are slightly below the climate averages for the season.

A weak low-pressure system is affecting the area.

Today, the weather will be mostly clear, but in the afternoon, increased cloud cover may bring isolated showers or a thunderstorm, especially in the mountains, inland, or eastern regions. Winds will be south-westerly to north-westerly, initially light to moderate (3–4 Beaufort), strengthening in the afternoon to moderate to strong (4–5 Beaufort), and temporarily very strong (6 Beaufort) on the southern coast. The sea will be slight to moderate.

Temperatures will rise to 32°C inland, 26°C on the western coast, around 28°C on other coastal areas, and 23°C in the highest mountains.

Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear, though locally increased low cloud or patchy fog may form in the early morning. Winds will remain south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate (3–4 Beaufort). The sea will be slight, though moderate in the west. Temperatures will fall to 15°C inland, around 17°C on the coast, and 10°C in the highest mountains.

On Friday and Saturday, the weather will be partly cloudy at times, with isolated showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon, mainly in the mountains, inland, or southwest.

On Sunday, the weather will again be mostly clear, but with the possibility of localised rain or storms in mountainous areas during the afternoon.

Temperatures will drop slightly on Friday and remain slightly below seasonal averages through the weekend.
