Bus driver fails drug test before school trip

Date:

Police officers, in coordination with the principal of a secondary school in the Paphos district, conducted a safety inspection this morning (Thursday 10 April) ahead of a scheduled school trip.

As part of the inspection, six buses were checked for roadworthiness, along with their respective drivers. One of the drivers tested positive in a preliminary drug test.

A sample was taken from the driver for final laboratory and scientific testing to confirm whether they were driving under the influence of drugs.

A replacement driver was called to transport the students safely.
