Last night, a property – a livestock unit owned by the 48-year-old ‘father’ who was remanded in custody along with his wife for the alleged abuse of their five children (the news broke last Friday) – was engulfed in flames.

According to the Fire Service, via its spokesperson, the property was also used as a residence and contained household items, discarded materials, and electrical appliances.
“No one had been living on the premises in recent times,” the spokesperson added, noting that the causes of the fire will be investigated later today in cooperation with the Police.
