58-year-old arrested over Paphos attempted murder outside kiosk

A 58-year-old man has been arrested under a court warrant in connection with a Paphos attempted murder committed on Wednesday evening in the Konia area. Police said the suspect has been taken into custody to assist investigations.

The Paphos CID is examining the case, which occurred at around 6.15pm outside a kiosk in Konia and is being treated as both an attempted murder and a knife attack.

According to police, the victim is a 26-year-old man from Paphos, who is currently in critical condition at Paphos General Hospital. Preliminary investigations have secured witness testimony alleging that the 26-year-old was attacked by the 58-year-old, who allegedly injured him with a knife.

The investigation is ongoing.
