A 37-year-old Cypriot mother is seeking urgent support as she faces a rare form of cancer and needs specialised medical treatment abroad.
Elena, a Special Education teacher and mother of three young children, was diagnosed with an extremely rare type of cancer following a series of medical examinations. Doctors identified a tumour in a particularly difficult location, positioned between nerves, making surgery highly complex.
Treatment requires specialist centre in England
Due to the complexity of her condition, Elena must travel urgently to a specialised medical centre in England where the required operation can be carried out.
The estimated cost of the procedure and treatment exceeds €100,000, while additional expenses include travel and accommodation costs for Elena and her accompanying family members.
The situation is considered highly urgent, as her departure for England and the surgery are scheduled to take place within a very short timeframe.
Family appeals for public support
Elena’s family is also facing further challenges, as her husband is dealing with health issues. Their three children are all very young, with the eldest aged just five and the youngest only 11 months old.
Under these difficult circumstances, the Wings of Hope organisation has launched a fundraising campaign to help cover the costs of Elena’s treatment, as well as her travel and stay in England.
Friends, relatives and colleagues have also mobilised, appealing to the public to support the effort. Every contribution, regardless of amount, can help cover the necessary expenses and give Elena the opportunity to receive the specialised treatment she urgently needs.
