Ypsonas fire – Man arrested as suspect

Date:

A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fire that broke out at dawn at a paper handling and storage factory in Ypsonas. The fire, which is under investigation, caused significant damage and led to the evacuation of nearby homes.

According to the police, the man is a former employee of the factory. His arrest followed a statement by the business owner, who suggested the fire may have been the result of arson and named the suspect as someone with whom he had previous disputes.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Limassol District Court tomorrow, where police will seek a remand order.
